Gautam Gambhir gives a mouth shutting reply to his trolls

Gautam Gambhir has been one of the underrated legends of Indian cricket. Despite his contributions, he never got the recognition he deserved. Gambhir played match-winning innings in the finals of the 20-20 World Cup and the 2011 World Cup. However, on both occasions, he didn’t get the Player of the Match rewards. Instead, Irfan Pathan and MS Dhoni were awarded in 2007 and 2011 respectively. Currently, the former India opening batter is a politician from the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).

Meanwhile, he has been subject to trolls for working as a cricket commentator and team mentor for the Lucknow franchise in the Indian T20 League. For the unversed, he became the Member of Parliament after winning the general elections in mid-2019. However, the left-hander has continued to work as a commentator. At that time, he was trolled by Netizens for not fulfilling his duties as an MP.

Recently, the 58-Test veteran once again became a subject of trolling for working as a team mentor for the Lucknow-based franchise in the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League. The 40-year-old replied by saying that he feeds 5000 people which is why he works in the cash-rich league. He also revealed that he spends the money for feeding a large number of people from his pocket. Notably, in 2019, he had stated that he doesn’t take a single penny of his salary being an MP.

“I work in the Indian T20 League because I spend 2.75cr annually to feed 5000 people. I spend all of this money from my own pocket. I’ve no shame in saying that I work in the Indian T20 League. All of this that I do has an ultimate goal,” Gambhir said while speaking to the media.

Talking about his time as a team mentor, his side reached the playoffs before losing the Eliminator game against Bangalore. After the game, he was alleged to have scolded the team skipper KL Rahul for playing slowly even when the team were chasing a target of 208
